“Elevated errors on claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork and the Claude API”
On 29 September, Claude had a major outage affecting claude.ai, Claude Code, Claude Cowork, the Claude API and the Claude Console. The incident was open on the status page from 14:21 to 16:27 UTC, but the status page's updates put the impact at 14:00 to 14:59 UTC. In that hour, users saw errors and failed requests, and a second issue stopped many from signing in, starting new chats or sessions, making purchases or uploading files. The status page said some messages sent in that window may not have been saved. Microsoft Azure, Cursor, Thomson Reuters Legal and several other services also reported problems at the same time.
