On 30 September, Microsoft Azure had a major outage in which multiple services had connectivity issues in multiple regions. It lasted from 22:28 to 02:33 UTC on 1 October, about 4 hours 5 minutes. The status page's updates first described an alert for Azure ExpressRoute Gateway in multiple regions, GitLab separately reported delayed email delivery during the same period, and this was Azure's second outage in four days.
