# OpenAI outage on 30 September 2026

> On 30 September, OpenAI had a major outage starting at 02:20 UTC, initially reported as errors creating or interacting with ChatGPT Space Pages. Other listed issues covered login, signup, ads, ChatGPT Pro and Plus error rates, and API latency. The incident stayed open for 45 hours 24 minutes and was resolved at 23:44 UTC on 1 October. The status page reported a mitigation by 06:03 and full recovery at 10:34 on 30 September. It then posted further mitigations at 15:00, and on 1 October at 16:51 said some users may still see slow or timed-out results. Blackbaud, Mailgun and Studocu also reported problems during the same period.
